TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I'm a licensed Family Dog Mediator, certified professional dog trainer and dog behavior counselor. I run Pooch Parenting, a unique program specializing in supporting families who have children and dogs. My products, services, and membership help overwhelmed parents so that their kids and dogs can live in harmony. I taught high school biology and environmental science for 8 years, and founded and ran a cooking school for children for another 8 years. My cooking school, What's Cooking with Kids, became well known and I did several cooking with kids segments on live television, published a cookbook for families, and was invited to the White House for the Launch of Chef's Move to Schools.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I went to college at UC Santa Cruz and earned a BA in Biology. I earned my single subject teaching credential at Dominican University in Life Science and have spent 8 years in the classroom as a Biology and Environmental Science teacher. When my two children were young, I founded What's Cooking with Kids - a mobile cooking school for children, which I ran for 8 years. Now I'm a Family Dog Mediator, certified dog behavior counselor and trainer, and dog foster mom, I’m also a mom of a biological daughter and an adopted son. I know what it’s like to parent kids and dogs at the same time.
