I have 7+ years of experience teaching and tutoring at the middle and high school levels. I have taught various levels of physics and mathematics while also tutoring in biology, chemistry, Spanish, and more. Currently, I am teaching 8th Grade Physics & Algebra 1 at Golden View Classical Academy, where I have worked on creating a modeling-friendly conceptual physics course, accounting for limited algebraic skills and engaging in the NGSS Scientific Practices. I'm also a Knowles Teaching Fellow, regularly engaging in PD with some of the top STEM teachers across the country.
I am trained in and deploy several research-proven, highly successful pedagogical approaches, including Modeling Instruction, Patterns Approach to Physics, Question Formulation Technique, Complex Instruction, Constructivism, NGSS Inquiry, etc.
I earned the 2016 Outstanding Graduate in Secondary Education from North Central College and was granted a Knowles Teaching Fellowship as a member of the 2017 Cohort. I've also been recognized as a finalist for the Aristotle Teacher of the Year Award at Golden View Classical Academy.
I earned B.S. in Physics & Secondary Education, along with a Minor in Mathematics from North Central College.
