I have a bachelors degree in both early childhood and special education. I am currently working towards my masters degree in reading and multisensory educational practices. I have found my love in special education teaching learning support and emotional support in an inclusionary general education class. This year is my sixth year teaching and my first year in a secondary setting. I am certified in the Orton-Gillingham multi-sensory structured language method of literacy for whole group lessons to one on one tutoring.
Children should lead the path learning takes through their unique strengths and challenges. I want children to feel comfortable to share their creative thoughts and ideas to help them expand their thinking and learning all while having fun and experiencing the world. I use a hybrid of flexible seating and traditional seating in my classroom. This year I will be introducing growth mindset to my students.
