After teaching and coaching at the middle school and high school levels for almost 40 years, the old coach moved into retirement and is now teaching mathematics at the college level. As a coach, he had almost 400 wins at all levels in basketball and numerous championships in cross country and track and field. As a mathematics instructor, most of his experience has been in successfully helping students through the rigors of algebra.

Eight time Marion County (Indianapolis) cross country champions, four undefeated track teams. His algebra students as well as other students were among the highest performing students on state exams.
Played basketball and track & field in college and was a member of the 1971 junior college national track & field champions while attending New Mexico Junior College. Injuries prohibited from continuing in athletics while earning a bachelors and masters at Purdue University.
