TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am certified to teach Latin in grades PreK-12, however I currently teach Latin I, II, III, IV, and AP at the high school level. I also teach a course on Etymology and Mythology. I've been teaching for 4 years, and I absolutely love sharing my passion for Classics with students!

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching style is ever-evolving. I never stick to just one style, but rather implement a variety! Some strategies I use are: project-based learning, collaborative group activities, expository lectures, and hands-on learning. For me, the most important aspect of teaching is connecting with my students and making the material personally relevant and interesting.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I graduated from the University of Tennessee with a BA in Classics (Latin concentration) and with an MS in Teacher Education.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I am a lover of all things Classics-related. In fact, I love Classics SO much I majored in it in college! Now I get to share my passion with high school students and hopefully ignite the same passion in them. As a Latin language teacher, I am constantly brainstorming ways to bridge the connection between the classical world and my students’ world. Making the Classics relevant to their lives is the best way to ensure the survival of Classics for generations to come!
