TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Twenty four years of art teaching experience - one in high school, 23 in K - 5. Sixteen years teaching motorcycle rider training classes (adults).

MY TEACHING STYLE

Eighteen years as a traditional "art lesson" teacher, with a curriculum I developed based on art history. In the last four years I transitioned to choice-based art, also known as Teaching for Artistic Behavior, or TAB. I still use art history in my classes, but only as an inspiration for my students who then decide what they would like to make using any materials available in the art room.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Past President of the New Hampshire Art Educators' Association. Current Co Chair of the New Hampshire Potters' Guild.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

BFA - Mass College of Art 1991 MAAE - New Hampshire Institute of Art 2015
