TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching middle school/high school for many years. I have taught math, ELA, social studies, business, and technology. This has given me the chance to integrate multiple subjects into projects my students do. I prepare geography projects with an eye to the ELA standards, and ELA projects that incorporate math concepts. Our school was a common core pilot school, so I have a lot of experience incorporating the CCSS standards into all of the subjects I teach.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My classes are project based - I'm a guide in the classroom. I have developed many projects for my students. Most of these projects are independent work - students have the chance to use their own best learning style to acquire and share information.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

My students win essay, short story, and poetry contests, and accelerate into higher math classes.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have a BA in Elementary Education and an MA in Educational Technology. Along the way, I've received accreditation for middle school math, algebra for credit, reading, social studies, and science, and high school business and geography as well as career and technical education.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I enjoy traveling around the world and sharing with my students what I have learned. I use my contacts around the world to help create great new projects every year for my students to grow and learn.
