I have always enjoyed working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorders, and I have worked with them in one way or another for years. I started out teaching ABC's and 123's in a Preschool Inclusion setting. Since then, I've taught students K-5th in an ASD Self-contained setting. I currently teach in a resource position where I co-teach academic areas, and pull students to the resource setting for social/emotional skills. This is my fifth year of teaching, and I absolutely love it! :)
I enjoy using hands-on materials, visuals, and graphic organizers to help students be successful. I like to make learning fun, use technology when possible, and use real-life examples to make content more memorable for students. Most importantly I like to make strong connections with students to provide them with a warm and friendly learning environment.
