My decade of classroom teaching experience includes middle school Spanish for nearly a decade, middle and high school ESL/EFL both in the US and abroad, middle and high school computer studies, and elementary Spanish. I worked for the YMCA designing and teaching several youth sports programs. I also ran the youth programming for a state university extension program. In addition to that experience, I run private educational workshops, have coached youth sports over the course of the last 20 years, and I am a PA home education program evaluator.

Simple, active, and engaging. Accommodating multiple ability levels respectfully within one classroom.

I once received a handmade scrapbook from one of my 8th grade students. It was filled cover to cover with her favorite quotes that I said in class. That gift, among the countless other drawings, kind notes, handcrafted, and heartfelt gifts that I have received from my students have meant more to me than any formal recognition that I have received.

Why Chickadee Education? Chickadee was the childhood nickname given to me by my Grandmother. She was a wonderful teacher, especially in the garden.
