Cheryl Magdefrau

I have been an educator for 30 years. I spent 21 years in the classroom teaching kindergarten and first grade. For the last 9 years, I have been the library media specialist. In this position, I have been the yearbook designer and I have developed curriculum for an enrichment program. I also serve on my school's leadership team.

I try to incorporate a lot of project based learning and hands on experiences. I believe children learn by doing and they are more engaged when they are involved in the activities. I also use a lot of literature with my lessons. And I promote the students researching different science and social studies topics while integrating language arts.

I have a BSE in Early Childhood Education and a MSE in Library Media from the University of Central Arkansas.

I have been married for 28 years and have two grown children.
