TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Three total years of full time teaching in inner city schools both in Illinois and Texas. I have an additional three years of substituting all in grades. I have also worked as a paraprofessional aide one year in an elementary school and one in middle school. I have worked with the AVID program as a tutor for one year and AVID teacher for year. I have taught a section of the following summer school classes: Introduction to Business and the Champions Summer Academy. I am a licensed professional educator in the state of Illinois. I have Endorsements to teach Middle School, History, Political Science, and Geography. Traveled on four continents and studied abroad in the United Kingdom for one and half years.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Eclectic, Dynamic, Energetic, and Creative and Fun with emphases in direct instruction, discovery based activities, cooperative learning and always student centered. I believe in multicultural and multilingual education and literacy skills being taught year round as we are always always building students skills for academic and lifetime success.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

MS in Education from the University of Dayton. BA in History with a Philosophy Minor. Postgraduate Degree in Medieval History from the University of York, UK. Currently working towards an ESL endorsement through National Louis University and the Illinois Resource Center.
