Carissa Saffon Wilkinson

I have been involved in education for 17 years as an instructional coach, teacher, volunteer, SSC member, SBOD member, and a researcher. Many of those years have been spent in urban schools where students are at a socioeconomic and linguistic disadvantage, and through my experience as a teacher, I have learned the best pedagogies and methodologies that help marginalized students develop their skills in reading, writing, and critical thinking. My desire to grow as an educator has led me to continue my growth in the field of education, including my current studies focusing on developing rigorous curricula for English Language Learners and Students With Disabilities.
