TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching since 1987, and have taught math from 6th grade all the way through the AP classes AB and BC Calculus. This unique range of experience has allowed me to know the entire scope and sequence of secondary mathematics. I am in my 10th year at a middle school in Colorado, and I have learned as much teaching here as I did in teaching calculus.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I am especially strong with visual representations in mathematics. I have a lively and often noisy classroom and believe students learn best with multiple representations, models and use of color. I am a believer in purposeful activities that foster independence and collaboration without compromising rigor or mastery expectations.
