TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have beed teaching high school ELA for over 12 years, and dual enrollment University classes for over 3 years. I have also written curriculum for my classes and district for over a decade.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe in collaborative work, purposeful writing and critical reading. Students need opportunities to demonstrate their understanding in a variety of way, so I work hard to provide those opportunities in my classroom.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

My biggest achievement as a teacher has been having a former student become an English teacher and tell me my class inspired her decision.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have a BA in English and print journalism from the University fo Texas-Rio Grande Valley.
