It has been a privilege to serve students and adults as an educator for the last 18 years. Empowering young men and women of all abilities levels to set goals for their lives while giving them the tools to succeed in college, their careers, and in life.
In my classroom, I utilize a variety of strategies to engage my students including: Project Based Learning, Service Learning, Case Studies and Real World Examples. My classroom community offers the students a chance to hone their skills in CTE, Personal Finance, Child Development, Internship, Education Professions, Food Science, Nutrition Science, Human Development and Wellness.
I was published in the Journal of Biological Education in 2002 for an article, Interactive Learning: A teaching model a model for biotechnology and genomics education. I have had the opportunity to mentor several student teachers over the years.
My education is as diverse as my interests. I have a B.S. in Horticulture Science and a M.S. in Curriculum and Instructions with an Emphasis on Youth Development. A certificate in Exceptional Needs Mild Intervention, Family and Consumer Science, and 7-12 ELA.
