Mr. Benjamin Sterling Ford comes to SCDS from Liberty County School System where he served as a teacher in the Division of Exceptional Learners for three years and as administrative instructional coach for two. Mr. Ford joins the SCDS family as the SLD teacher, MS Diversity Coordinator and coach. He will coach Middle School football and basketball. He earned a B.A. degree in Political Science from Howard University and Masters work with certification in Special Education from Nova Southeastern University. He also earned a Masters Degree from Fielding Graduate School in Collaborative Educational Leadership. Prior to moving to the Savannah area, Mr. Ford worked for Nova Southeastern University, University School as an SLD teacher, a science instructor, and a professional development trainer, integrating technology with classroom instruction. Mr. Ford worked in Palm Beach County for eight years, and, while there, he served in a variety of teacher-leader roles, from team leader to School Improvement Team Chairperson. He brings nearly twenty years of experience to SCDS's team. He is married to Dr. Charlene Reid Ford and has two children, Carrie-Elizabeth and Brentton, who is a sophomore at SCDS.
