Making number worksheets are something we work on quite frequently in my classroom. Our school does Cognitve Guided Instruction or CGI for math and this helps them out a lot. It helps me see what they know and how their little brains are thinking.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching 1st grade for four years. I love teaching first grade. They are so eager to learn how to read and write and become more independent. I just received my Masters degree in Curriculum Development. This has been a lifelong goal of mine and I am happy to say that I can mark that off my list of "to-do's"

MY TEACHING STYLE

I am a hands on learner so I tend to teach that way as well. My class this year has every type of learner you could ask for. They certainly keep me on my toes!

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I don't know if it's an actual "award" or "honor" or not, but I sure worked hard on it. In the mail just yesterday I received my Masters diploma! It feels so good to have that finished!!! :)

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I grew up in the AMAZING state of Texas where I attended Southwestern Adventist University. I followed my now husband to Iowa and we reside here now. I am currently enrolled at Doane College and I will be earning my Masters Degree in Curriculum Development. I will be graduating in August.....YAY!!!! :-)

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I am originally from the wonderful state of Texas. I followed my heart to Iowa however and married my husband. We have been married almost 5 years now and we have a little boy who will be 2 in August named Logan. He is our pride and joy right now. My husband trains horses so we spend a lot of time riding . I also LOVE to shop, run, golf, and create new ideas for my classroom.
