TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I bring 25+ years of experience to creating cross-curricular, multi-modal materials that are useful in various settings. My writing is inspired by the many students from across the full spectrum of academic levels and special needs that I've had the pleasure to meet while involved with classroom teaching, tutoring, outdoor education, homeschooling, public outreach, professional development, and curricular support. MY TEACHING STYLE

With one foot grounded in classroom practicalities and the benefits of fundamental skill mastery, I also aspire to teach with this passage from 'Theophilus North' by Thornton Wilder in mind: "If I had a student whose mind and heart was absorbed by birds, I would build French lessons about ostriches and starlings. Learning takes wing when it's related to what's passing in the student's inner life."
