I retired after thirty-three years of teaching upper elementary grades in the public school system. I love my job and looked forward to going to work on most days! I have also taught the same age group in Sunday school for over ten years. I love to teach the Bible and want to provide inexpensive resources to spread gospel of Jesus Christ.
I always believed in being firm, but kind. I enjoyed creating fun activities to go with lessons. I especially loved reading novels to the children, and completing novel studies with them. I had a tradition of reading "Old Yeller" each year to my students. One year the class enjoyed the book so much that they asked me to read it again at the end of the year!
There have been a few times of recognition through the years, but my greatest honor was at our last school assembly in my final year of teaching. My class presented me with a gift, and I got a standing ovation from students, teachers, and parents. I will never forget that priceless moment.
I have a Master's Degree in Elementary Education from West Virginia University.
