I graduated from Syracuse University with a B.S. in Health and Exercise Science. My career began in various degree-related fields such as personal training, athletic and performance training, and physical therapy. Transitioning to education, I initially worked part-time as a substitute teacher K-12 in public school districts. Seeking a more permanent role, I pursued the alternate teaching route at New Jersey City University, where I completed a Master's of Teaching in Elementary Education, specializing in science for grades 5-8. For two and a half years, I worked at a public charter school, starting as an In-Class Support teacher for 3rd and 4th grade. The following year, I was promoted to a full-time 8th-grade science teacher. However, due to the high demands and stress from the charter school environment, coupled with the challenges of the peak Covid period, I decided to resign halfway through the school year. I then transitioned to a public school in New Jersey, where I taught 6th-grade science for the remainder of the year before moving on to teach an additional year as an 8th-grade science teacher. I particularly enjoy the sense of community and support found in public schools and plan to continue working until I achieve tenure. As an 8th-grade science teacher in New Jersey, I adhere to the New Generation State Standards and have developed a curriculum that covers Physics (forces and motion, waves, magnets, and electricity) in the first half of the school year, followed by Chemistry in the second half.
