TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught middle school math, including 6th, 7th , Pre-Algebra, & Algebra I, for 12 years. I have taught 7th grade Geography for 3 years.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I like to teach using a variety of methods and resources - there is rarely one, right way to teach something so the more approaches I use, the greater I feel the understanding of my students will be. Because of this, I am often on the hunt for new material and new lessons. I create a lot of my own lessons, and see my classroom textbook as just another resource. While some of my lessons will be straightforward worksheets, reviews, or quizzes, I also try find unique ways to present material. Integrating subjects is a key component of my teaching style - when students are able to make connections between subjects, a deeper level of understanding is achieved.
