Beth Sies Creations for SLPs

I have been a certified Speech-Language Pathologist for over 12 years. I work in the public school with 3-year-olds through 12th graders. So, I know how difficult it can be to find relevant materials to span the ages. I love to scrapbook and have found that creating no print materials is similar to scrapbooking in many ways. So, I combined two of my passions--speech therapy and scrapbooking. My goal is to create quality materials that not only meet the needs of speech-language students but also reduce planning time for the SLPs.

All varieties of teaching styles are needed to match the many types of students and goals addressed. I provide everything from 5-minute kids therapy to fluency therapy.

If you are a Speech-Language Pathologist in the school setting, you learn very quickly how to survive on your own. You learn how to make a window-less room (sometimes an old janitor's closet) into a beautiful speech-space. You learn how to find other SLPs online in order to have some sort of community. Eventually, you even learn how to fix an R. When you look back on everything you have learned, you realize that you want to share your knowledge with other SLPs. Maybe you can help that new SLP feel more secure at her brand new job. Or, maybe you can help the seasoned SLP avoid the embarrassment you felt when you realized your client had a tongue-tie for the past 3 years of treatment! My materials will not miraculously add a window in your speech room, but they will provide a glimpse into all of the life lessons I have learned the hard way as a school-based SLP.
