TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I'm entering my tenth year of teaching. I taught 4th grade for 4 years and I have spent the last 5 years in 3rd grade. I teach in southwest Ohio!

MY TEACHING STYLE

As all good teachers know, students do not learn the same way. I use a variety of teaching strategies and methods to reach my students effectively. I believe in hands-on, tactile learning, where minds are constantly moving. This seems to be the most engaging approach for my students. I love interactive notebooks, The Daily Five/Cafe, and small groups/centers.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I was nominated for Teacher of the Year in my building for four years in a row. I strive each day to be better than the day before!

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

BA in Early Childhood Education from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio (Go Redhawks!!). I have a Master's in Curriculum and STEM education from the University of Cincinnati. I am licensed to teach grades prek-5.
