As a mother, I have had the opportunity to engage in homeschooling my children, which has allowed me to pursue my individual interests and careers. Through my diverse educational and work background, I have gained a wealth of experience in areas such as statistical reporting, private investigation, photography, horticulture, and genealogy. My professional journey has been diverse, having gained several years of experience with the Parks & Recreation department in my city. Starting as a volunteer during my middle school days, I progressed to a paid position. One of my notable experiences was serving as a center supervisor and gift shop specialist at a museum dedicated to the local Native American tribe. Additionally, as a former 4H member, I volunteer as an adult leader, given my children's involvement. My family and I are engaged in various business ventures, such as manufacturing and selling soap, bath products, cosmetics, furniture, fine art, sustainable home goods, and produce. Recently, we acquired a new property, which we plan to develop with market gardens and orchards, with ample space for humanely and sustainably raised livestock and wildlife. Our chickens and geese are thriving in their pasture, and it is gratifying to witness how a little bit of love can breathe life back into nature.
Our teaching methodology is characterized by its eclecticism, which allows us to remain flexible in our approach. Should one particular method prove to be ineffective, we are always open to exploring alternative strategies. Our pedagogical approach is a blend of both traditional book learning and online resources, supplemented by ample opportunities for hands-on learning experiences. By incorporating various approaches to learning, we strive to create a comprehensive educational experience that is tailored to the individual needs of our students.

My educational interests are centered around the fields of photography, horticulture, and animal husbandry which I actively pursue through both college level and self-education in liberal arts. Through my own initiative and dedication, I have acquired a depth of knowledge and expertise in these disciplines, which has allowed me to excel in my pursuits.
I'm incredibly lucky to call a picturesque mountaintop in California my home sweet home. We say a little thank you when we step outside each morning. My spouse and I are proud parents of three wonderful kids, a retired service dog, and a flock of (too many) chickens and geese. When I'm not hanging out with my family, I love immersing myself in a good book or audiobook. You can often find me in our test gardens and fledgling orchards, or carrying a chainsaw or weed eater to reduce fuel for wildfires. I have my noise-canceling headphones on and let my troubles melt away while I work. I also like to dig deep into my family's history and learn all I can about my ancestors. My grandfather asked me to take over the family genealogy when he passed and to tell his story and that of those before him. I am proud to carry on his work and hope to hand down the job to one of my children or niblings when the time comes. We're a curious bunch, and we love nothing more than exploring historical and educational sites. Life is too short not to experience all the amazing things this world has to offer. We love to discover new places and make memories together.
