I have worked in the Early Education Field for almost 20 years as an Early Childhood Infant Toddler Educator. My work experience includes preschools, daycares, Early Learning Schools, the Supported Child Development Program, the Young Parents Program and several Infant/Toddler Programs. In addition to daily emergent curriculum planning, I have also designed summer camps and specialty programs. After 5 years as the room supervisor in our Toddler Program, I became Education Coordinator and now oversee the development and implementation of early years curriculum for a prestigious Early Learning School.
I believe children learn best through hands-on, interactive experiences in an environment that celebrates their individuality, encourages their creativity and allows them to freely explore the world around them.
Yet to be added
I graduated with distinction from the Early Childhood Education-Infant Toddler Program from Okanagan College in Kelowna, BC. I have also taken many hours of professional development courses, such as the Expressive Play Therapy Certificate Program and Trauma-Informed Care & Curriculum Workshop, over the past two decades to refresh and update my teaching strategies.
After many years of making innovative daily programming and creating amazing learning centers for young children, I began designing curriculum for other Early Learning Teachers to use in their own toddler classrooms. It became apparent to me that quality, age-appropriate toddler curriculum that met clear learning objectives, and teaching resources that were based on specific developmental needs of toddlers were hard to find---and so, Baby Boo's Backpack was created!
