I have 27 years experience teaching AP Biology. Each year, I had 90-100 sophomores who sat for the AP Biology Exam. My pass rate ranged from 80-90%. In the past, I served as a College Board Reader for the AP Biology Free Response section. I have also served as a College Board Consultant (trainer) teaching teachers how to to teach AP Biology.
With every unit covered throughout the year, my goal was to target all types of learners. I have developed over 50 Honors/College-level, hands-on activities that enhance learning no matter what type of learner!! I am excited that I now have over 75 products available at a very low cost to educators all over the world. I also have many original worksheets and study guides to share.
I received Teacher of the Year at three different high schools, The Outstanding Biology Teacher Award for Idaho in 2010, and was the Sponsoring Teacher for the First Place Winner of the DuPont Essay contest in 2008. I was honored to receive the Presidential Award in Science for 2017.
I earned a B.S. in Biology in 1995, a Life Science Credential from Chapman University in 1997, an M.A. in Teaching from Grand Canyon University in 2001, and National Board Certification in AYA Science in 2001.
Teaching is my passion. I love Biology and adore kids! Sharing my love for Biology with my students is extremely rewarding. When my students learn, retain, and understand difficult college-level concepts and are eager to come to class each and every day, I know I am making a difference. I am also passionate about sharing my ideas with fellow teachers. My specialty was efficiency and student engagement. The activities available through my store promote both of these ideals. My classroom is proof that Honors/AP level curriculum can be fun, engaging, and highly rigorous!
