TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I've been teaching for 24 years, 16 of those in 5th grade. I have an obsession with American History and spend many hours researching primary sources.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My style is very interactive and hands on. Students use technology frequently to research topics in history. My class is filled with literature and I often tie in social studies to historical fiction.

Elementary Social Studies Teacher of the Year- 2013-14 Broward County Council for the Social Studies Teacher of the Year 2009-10 Cohort in the Teaching American History Grant for 4 years.

I am married with three teenagers two of which are twins. One of my sons has muscular dystrophy and I am always looking for ways to make his life more fun!
