TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught this for 2 years in the middle school and high school setting. There are different versions of this lesson to accommodate all of these grade levels. My kids have loved it and the school I presently teach in is seeking to expand the grades i can teach it as an elective class.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching style is meeting the student (at any age) where they are. People learn differently, and because of this I use all methods to teach my lessons; real life relations, videos, audio, coloring...etc. anything that will cause the content to stick. It has seemed to work and I'm very proud the Lord gave me that talent to find that, which connects.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I have won teacher or the month for this very reason, leadership awards and "best advice".

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have an A.A. in Business Management, B.S. In Education/Psychology with a minor in christian counseling. a Masters in Teaching and Learning and School Counseling.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I have had a love for teaching since I was a young girl. the gift wasn't realized until long after the educational struggles I faced growing up. This is when I learned God gave me a gift and this is what I was to do with it. The passion for African American History came while I was in school. I found the need to get the word out and educate everyone on the history of the Afo-American was in such need that I had to jump into action. I began creating my own curriculum for African American History about 8 yrs ago and have been expanding ever since. I had to make sure I was ready when the nation was ready to allow appropriate teaching if African and African American History.
