I have over 16 years experience working in the academic field. I have taught the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade full time. I have also taught virtually which was quite an experience. Currently, four years full time teaching FUSD and two years substitute teaching K-12, including pre-school, special education classes, and continuation school. Six years special education (MS/MM) para-educator for LBUSD. One year After-School Program Leader for 2nd grade and 4th-5th graders, LBUSD.
Facilitator/Hybrid -- My instruction consists of (for math and English) an I do, we do, you do. Academic instruction and then students try on their own, work together if there are still questions, and then an individual check for understanding. If students are struggling, I pull small groups. Students are given my created tools to reteach/relearn a skill. The tool takes the student through a step-by-step guide of a problem for math and I am beginning to design some step-by-step guides for English, History, and Science.
I have received many (off the record) best teacher ever awards and one unofficial superhero teaching award from a principal. ;)
California State University Long Beach -- Major in Studio Art and Design -- Minor in Metals and Photography -- All studying taken in Art Degree -- Art History -- Writing -- Metal Smithing, enameling, casting, forging (Jewelry and Objects) -- Print Making -- Photography film, developing in dark room, black & white film photography -- Ceramics -- and the list goes on...
My passions are art, design, teaching, positivity, and creating instructional resources for myself and other teachers. I am so excited to be working on tons of fun activities, printable anchor charts (different size ratios for printing), classroom decor, helpful learning tools for students, and much more. I truly enjoy teaching! I love hearing my students say that they love coming to class or they enjoy my step-by-step teaching systems because they are able to learn a skill we are working on independently. Enough about me! Enjoy a free download or two and I hope you find something you love! xo, A.Davis
