I'm in year 17 as a teacher--three years at the university level, thirteen years in high school. My English and writing classrooms are fun and engaging, taking students to college-level thinking. I particularly emphasize expository and argumentative writing, and have experience teaching in ELA and ELL classrooms. Thanks for browsing!
I am a big believer that teenagers are intelligent and deserve to be treated as such. My ELA classroom is rigorous, fun, and relevant to future college and career interests for my junior and senior English students. I like to give students a chance to use analytical and argumentative skills as often as possible with literature, and move at a brisk pace. As an English teacher, punctuation and grammar are important, but not everything to me--I care most that my students are learning to think critically.
