Alisha Montgomery

I am in my 2nd year of teaching 2nd grade and I absolutely love it! I could not imagine having any career other than this, it is what I was born to do!

I am really big on collaborative learning and incorporating technology into my teaching. I love doing research based projects with my students and it is so much fun watching them teach each other new things every day. I really like having time every day to work one on one with my students or in small groups. It really shows me their personality that I might miss in our big group activities and lessons.

Right before graduation in May 2011, I received a certificate for "score of excellence" on my most difficult teaching exam. I also get little notes from my kids every year that tell me I'm "the best teacher ever", to me, that is one of the most special awards!

I graduated from Winfield High School and attended Emporia State University to get my Bachelor's in Early Education. I am planning on going back to ESU to get my Master's in Instruction Design and Technology.
