I'm in my 14th year of education, and I LOVE it! I taught 3rd grade for three years, 5th grade for 9 years. I've had experience in teaching all content areas, and I am currently in my 3rd year as my district's literacy coach. *Reading Endorsement *Gifted Education Endorsement *Inclusion/Co-Teaching Setting Experience since 2010 *Teacher Leadership Certification
My classroom has an even balance of whole-group instruction, group work, independent activities, centers, and projects. I try to allow students to work with each other as much as possible, and being in the front of the room is not my focus. I'm usually walking around the room and allowing students to guide themselves during learning activities, with my assistance if necessary. I also like to use that time to pull students to provide additional instruction in their weak areas.
