Middle School and High School Algebra
Although all my resources are worksheets, that is not my teaching style. I believe that students learn best through discussion, exploration and self discovery. That said, once a concept is learned, there is still a need and a value in practicing that skill using paper and pencil, and these worksheets attempt to provide practice material beyond the standard workbook. In addition, when I create a funsheet most of the time what I have in mind is for the students to have the ability to get immediate feedback on their work in order to encourage them to look for and correct their own mistakes.
The best moments as a teacher always come from the students, whether it was students returning to visit me even though they had moved on to high school, students who left me surprise Christmas presents at the front office even though they had long graduated, or when the students from all my classes got together and gave me my own Teacher of the Year award since I didn't win the official title that year for the school. What a rewarding career teaching is!!
Graduated Summa cum Laude with a degree in mathematics.
I used my math degree in a variety of fields but I was not cut out for cubicle work! Gave up a computer salary for a teacher one ... no regrets!!
