TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have always been teaching in some form, whether it be homeschooling my own children (or helping with homework), teaching in a dance studio or workout studio, volunteering at school in my different capacities, or working as a substitute teacher. Currently, I work with 11th and 12th grade students at a career/technical school teaching high school math as well as teach ESL online.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Although lecture and notes have there place as well, I try to focus on hands-on as much as possible. I love to do group work as well at times. As a teacher, I try to tap into as many learning styles as possible.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Students learning and achieving is my own award to the hours I spend planning and working. I do not need anything more than that to prove that I am a great teacher.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

From the time I was six years old, I knew I wanted to be a math teacher, often playing pretend. When I reached high school, I decided to take another path and completed my bachelor's degree in business. After being a stay-at-home mom, I went back to college to obtain my master's degree when they both were in middle school. I completed my master's degree in math secondary education.
