Description

Students will be creating a presentation to share information in aspects of Geometry. This project has FOUR parts which incorporates math, English, science, and social studies for a cross-curricular experience in Geometry. The listing includes the assignment along with an example Google slide file, which can be used as a template to share with students.

Objectives:

  • To review key terms and concepts in Geometry by defining, stating the origin of the word, and showing an example
  • To discover how Geometry applies to Science and nature as well as the purpose it serves
  • To discover Geometry in man-made products throughout the world, their impact on society, and if it is made using renewable or non-renewable resources as well as if those resources are abundant or scarce
  • To research the inventor of the Fibonacci sequence, where it originated, the importance of it, and interesting facts about the inventor
  • To understand what the Fibonacci sequence and why it is important to science and math

Overview:

You will create a book or Google Slides file using the vocabulary words from Geometry.  You will state the term’s origin, define the term, create a sentence using the term, and apply this term to nature and man-made objects.  You will add pages or slides to the end to complete the other work for Part II and III (which will not be a part of each slide of the alphabet).

Requirements:

For each page or slide, you will…

  • State the letter of the alphabet
  • Include the FOUR parts below

At the end of the book or set of slides, you will have a slide for each of the following...

  • Paragraphs for Part II
  • Video & article summary (see Part III)
