TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught for 31 years, serving as a regular ed and gifted instructor but have taught students on many different levels. My focus has always been on teaching the lower grades with extensions for gifted acceleration. I taught first grade for twenty-three years and have taught third grade for eight years. Teaching is my passion and I continually refine my craft!

MY TEACHING STYLE

I love to teach students with hands-on, interactive, technology based projects and lessons. Differentiated lessons are a must to reach the diversity of my learners! Facilitating my learners as they discover and explore their own learning styles is so rewarding!

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I am a five time recipient of Who's Who Among American Teachers; was honored twice as my school's Teacher of the Year; was nominated and accepted to Cambridge Who's Who Among Executive and Professional Women in America; was chosen for Leader's Magazine 2012; was accepted to Biltmore Who's Who in 2011, 2012 and 2014; and was accepted to Covington Who's Who in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015; honored as WXIA-11Alive TV "Class Act Teacher"; and a Delta Kappa Gamma Golden Apple Award recipient. One of the greatest honors in my life is to be blessed with my wonderful husband and daughter!
