I have been in education for 15 years. My career began as an Instructional Assistant in a Special Needs classroom and after 5 years, I transitioned to the World Language classroom. I was raised in Puerto Rico and had a desire to share my culture, heritage and language with students. In the middle school setting, my sixth grade students explore Spanish, French and German. My seventh and eighth grade students learn Spanish for high school credit.
I believe in student driven instruction. I provide carefully selected options to students and allow them to have a voice in their learning. My students take responsibility for their learning and communicate their needs so successful learning can take place. I also believe in an engaging and fun classroom where students don't "feel" like they're in school. Lessons are tailored to meet the needs of my students and are creative, engaging and interactive.
