My career in education began in my teens during my years as a camp counselor. A better part of seven of my summers were spent working with youth to create and implement engaging curriculum in the arts, and to further academic and emotional learning. My passion for teaching grew as I took on a directorial role for music and drama within summer programming, and additionally began coaching improv across Ontario. I have a cumulative 10 years of tutoring experience wherein I have worked for several platforms (such as but not limited to: Chegg, Cambly, Starbugs, and Tutor Bright) as well as independently while tutoring. I hold my TEFL certification and specialize in both ESL and FSL. My 6 years of teaching experience come from a variety of environments ranging from preschool and school-age before and after-school care programming to supply and eventually full-time elementary teaching. I have taken on the role of ECE, EA, and lead educator in differing settings, and have loved each opportunity that allows me to connect with and guide students. Currently, I have a grade 1/2 split homeroom and am the resident drama and dance teacher for Wellington Hall Academy.
A focus on social/ emotional learning and a growth mindset in order to foster the most effective learning environment.
