I taught 4th grade for 9 years and this year I have been teaching 5th grade. I love upper grades!
I would say I represent the best of both worlds: rigid discipline and creativity in the classroom. The biggest focus of all my instruction is giving the students an opportunity to apply their knowledge in a meaningful, real-life setting. I try to incorporate this objective in EVERY lesson plan I create!
I have been chosen "The teacher of the Week" three times at my school! :-) Also, each year my class' scores on end-of-the-year testings are one of the highest in the whole NATION! Too bad they do not give awards for that...
I have a bachelor's degree in English and Master's Degree in Political Science.
I grew up and got my education in Poland. However, one day, my restless feet took me all the way to Alaska, where I became fascinated with American culture. Since my major was English, I decided to work on my English language skills by coming to Utah and working at a local school. What was supposed to be a short-termed episode turned out to be a long and fulfilling career as a 4th grade teacher. Of course, I also managed to do plenty other things while being in Utah: I picked up skiing, learned salsa dancing, fell in love with my husband...and the list goes on! :-)
