TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Teaching English as a Foreign Language since 2012 3 years Conversational English for asylum seekers and refugees in the UK. 3 years ESL to Chinese migrants to the UK. 6 years ESL to children aged 2 to 12 in China including CLIL & exam preparation. 2 years ESL teaching online both children and adults.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Fun, creative and relaxed. I believe that all students learn at a different rate in different ways. No 'one size fits all' mentality. My lessons are adaptable, at the core they can be taught to any age, any level, and adjusted to suit the needs of the individual. I also believe that there is plentiful focus on grammar, vocab, spelling & pronunciation out there BUT there is a serious lacking of teaching that allows students to practise what they've learnt in a natural, relevant way. This is why I focus on CLIL classes (Content and Language Integrated Learning), and my students love that they can learn about dinosaurs in one class before zooming off to the Antarctica with Robert Falcon Scott in the next - all the time learning fascinating stuff whilst practising their English!
