Hi Everyone! I am a 2nd grade teacher in Pennsylvania. I began my teaching career in 2007. Since then, I've taught 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade classrooms. Currently, I am serving as my district's K-2 reading lead. I'm very passionate about the science of reading, technology, and all things camping and s'mores. My professional goal is to create a classroom of happy campers and lifetime readers.
I believe that education should be engaging, fun, meaningful, and collaborative. I believe in trying new things, all in the name of engaging my littles. My goal is for my students to be excited about coming to school and to feel like they are a part of a classroom family.

I currently teach 2nd grade in the Danville Area School District, which is located in central Pennsylvania. I student taught 3rd grade in 2006, in my current district. They must have liked my teaching style, because before my student teaching placement was over, I was hired as a long-term substitute teacher in 3rd grade for the next school year. At the conclusion of my long-term position, I was hired full-time as a 1st grade teacher. The following year, I was moved to 3rd grade, where I taught for many years, until recently being given the opportunity to teach 2nd grade (my favorite).
I am a married momma of two. I have a daughter, who graduates from high school in 2023, and a son who is is middle school. In my free time (what's that?) I enjoy shopping, reading, decorating, and crafting. I love the feeling of accomplishment that comes with making something myself for cheaper than I could buy it for online. Currently, I have tried my hand at making signs, garlands, pom-poms, as well as refinishing furniture. I have also discovered a new love, designing my own curriculum materials to share with other educators.
