William Wordsworth’s "Tintern Abbey" is the Romantic Manifesto, a highly personal poem that’s bursting with Wordsworth’s feelings about nature and the “spontaneous overflow of powerful feeling: it takes its origin from emotion recollected in tranquility.” This lesson set includes everything you’ll need to teach this beautifully spiritual poem

You’ll find two versions of the poems—one with a highly detailed line-by-line annotations for you to use as you teach, and one version without annotations that you can copy and hand out to your students.
The lesson concludes with the writing prompt “What’s Your Manifesto?,” which encourages students to consider what they consider most important in their own lives.
