Tout sur moi - All About Me in French - Back to School French - French Me Voici
The following document is in French.
I'm a Kindergarten French Immersion teacher in Ontario and I'm always struggling to find literacy materials that are engaging, simple and tied to my English teaching partners focus, as well.
Now, as we're remote teaching, my French Units are geared towards 'learning from home,' as well as in the classroom. They are easy to print, easy to follow and can be sent home as remote learning resources for second-language learners.
I created this 20-page mini-unit on 'Tout sur moi - All About Me in French - Back to School French - French Me Voici' with specific, targeted and repeated vocabulary to highlight some key concepts that we focus on in our literacy blocks and in our literacy centres:
- Shared Reading Poem of the Week (in colour and in black and white)
- Word Wall Word Cards (in colour and in black and white)
- Journal Prompt x2
- Collaborative Class Book
- Emergent Reader with traceable text (in black and white)
- Write the Room
- Colouring Page
I hope you find that this unit ties in nicely with your Back to School, All About Me, Getting to Know You and Self-Reflection themes in your Kindergarten, Primary or Core French classes - or as distance learning tools! The repetitive nature of these units allows for structure and predictability, as well as repeated exposure to a specific amount (6) vocabulary words (yeux, cheveux, famille, maison, couleur, jouet).
