Description

This mini-unit provides both an introduction to and materials with which to practice the Toulmin Model of Argumentation. It is suitable for use in AP Language and Composition and other upper-level English courses, particularly those with a focus in argumentative writing.

The Toulmin Model is an effective and formal way for students to analyze complex, argumentative texts. It allows them to see all the necessary parts of a written argument and to evaluate their persuasiveness and effectiveness.
