Description

This activity is a fun NO PREP reading comprehension activity to do to celebrate St. Patrick's Day 2024. There is a digital resource (Google Document) and a printable resource (Canva) that contain the same directions and activity. This was designed for students in middle school, but could be used for upper elementary and high school students. In this assignment, students are asked to read 5 passages (5th/6th grade reading level) about St. Patrick's Day. The passages are designed to show a clear informational text structure. There is a poster included (page 2) to help students identify key words and increase understanding of the 5 different informational text structures. There are 2 reflection questions after each passage and students are asked to write a written response (in 1 of the 5 identified text structures) at the end of the activity. Answer Key Included.
