Rubrics Covering All NGSS Grade 4 Science Standards!
- Google Drive™ folder
Description
My district recently made a shift to standardized grading for all subjects through grade 5. As an implementation specialist ,to help make curriculum match those standards, I organized all NGSS standards into six units that worked with Foss kits and different materials we 4th grade teachers have.
Whether you're teaching the 4th-grade standards with projects or in isolation, these rubrics will allow your students to know what's expected of them and help you to grade based on their competence in regard to each standard.
Since they're Google Docs, you can edit them to be more specific to what you're teaching (like the Unit 5 rubric--which you can use as is if you use the "Living on a Dollar a Day" documentary), or you can keep them how they are and evaluate their performance as you proceed through the standards. You can even use them in isolation to show parents and administrators how you're evaluating your students. (I have learning guides I've created to accompany these as well which I'll post if there's enough interest.)
I wish I'd thought of this a long time ago rather than flounder through whatever science materials we had available and give arbitrary scores based on participation alone!
