Description
These 3-page right triangle trigonometry guided notes start with introducing the three trig functions and practicing with basic trig ratios, solving trig problems for missing side lengths, and then introduce inverse trig functions to solve for missing angle measures. The fourth page is practice/a worksheet over solving right triangles (for missing angles or sides). The scaffolded notes provide an extra opportunity to keep students engaged and save valuable time in the classroom. Practice problems are included in the three pages of notes in addition to the worksheet. The notes also come with two answer keys (one with just the notes without examples filled in for teaching purposes and one full key) for the notes and worksheet. This lesson works well on its own or paired with my unit on Right Triangles and Trigonometry. In my class, I use the Introduction to Trigonometry Tangent Investigation as a lead in to our discussion on trigonometric functions as a ratio of side lengths.
