Description

Ready to help students tackle planning their fiction pieces of writing? For so many kids it's "where do I start?" Well, let this resource help alleviate that stress by providing a very clear and visually appealing graphic organizer to help students map out a fiction story from start to finish. Drafting with a plan and purpose behind each piece of the writing is what will create solid, well-thought out resources.

Description of Resource:

This planner helps students map out the five main parts of a story arc needed to plan a full narrative or realistic fiction piece of writing. The first part explains each of the steps as "small moments" as a resource and the other page is the planner itself for the kids. The second set of pages is also a resource and a planner for kids, but refers to the sections of planning as "chapters". This works great in conjunction with Writer's Workshop style of teaching.

Resource Includes:

4 unique pages in color to help aid students in story arcing and planning, and then 4 pages again but black and white - suitable for printing.

Ideal For:

Teachers looking for a clear way to help students map their story ideas out prior to drafting. This is also super helpful for teachers to quickly check in with students to ensure the planning of their writing contains all of the necessary parts and is purposeful.
