12 Lists of Fluency Phrases and Data Sheets: Digraphs, CVCe, Primer and First Grade Sight Words
These fluency phrases were created to be used with my guided reading groups, but you can use them as you wish. During our guided reading group time I give each student the same list (these students are working on the same skills). They then whisper read each phrase. I listen carefully, and help students with words as needed. Each time they read the phrase, they check off one of the three boxes.
First Grade Dolch Words: CVCe, Digraphs - Word List and Data Sheets
This is basically a list of words in a table format! It’s nothing fancy, but my students LOVE reading these words in guided reading group and as a partner activity! The table and data sheets are also great for keeping documentation of what students know!
Using these tables…
-Blend/Read a word and paint a word
-Blend/Read a word and highlight a word
-Use dot paint or crayons with partners to play a word version of (tic-tac-toe). Students have to read the word before dotting or coloring the word.
-Cut out the words. The teacher says a word and the first student to find the word gets the card. The winner is the student with the most cards.
-You could also just use these tables as a quick assessment. The Dolch words are listed in order of frequency.
CVCe and Digraph Cards
In my classroom I use letter cards to help my students identify letter sounds. When I hold up the letter “a” my students must say “a says /a/”. Because the letter cards have been so successful, I thought it would be helpful to use flashcards to practice digraphs and magic e. I’m really hoping that these cards help my students develop automatic identification of spelling pattern.
