Please take a look at a detailed description of everthing that is included with this resource.

Reference Sheet

A half page reference sheet is provided for the students to glue in their notebooks. It provides information on proportional relationships that exist in tables, graphs, equations and verbal relationships.

Examining Tables

Are the Variables Proportional?

This product provides students an opportunity to practice identifying proportional relationships in tables. Students examine tables and identify which ones have two variables that represent a proportional relationship. Students are also asked to create a table that represents a proportional relationship and one table that does not. Two problems ask students to identify an error with an explanation that was provided about a table. (Worksheet – 2 pages)

Examining Graphs

Are the Variables Proportional?

This product displays four graphs and asks students to identify and explain which one has a proportional relationship. Students are asked to create a graph that represents a proportional relationship and one that does not represent a proportional relationship. One problem asks students to identify an error in an explanation that was provided about a table. Students also have an opportunity to create a table and a graph for an equation. (Worksheet – 2 pages)

Verbal Descriptions & Equations

Are the Variables Proportional?

Students are provided eight questions and are asked to identify if a proportional relationship exists in a verbal description or an equation. Students are provided space to explain their reasoning. This product also includes a second page Roses – Proportional Relationships which asks students to write an equation, create a graph and a table and to provide an explanation about the proportional relationship. (Worksheet – 2 pages)

Equations, Tables and Graphs - Mixed Review

Is it Proportional?

Students are asked to identify if a proportional relationships exists on twelve problems. A variety of problems (graph, equation and table) are given. Space is provided for students to explain their thinking. (Worksheet – 2 pages)

Exit Slips

This resource also includes three exit slips for proportional relationships that exist in tables, graphs and equations.

Assessment

Lastly, a two page assessment (16 questions) is provided with a variety of problems on proportional relationships that may exist in tables, graphs and equations.
